I just got a brand new black TNF Access Pack 28L for 135$ here in Argentina. Then i got the 22L versión too. And is just incredible too note the increment of size it has above the other one. and it has two bottle holders on both sides. It can stand alone too. But the 22L looks better aestheticaly.

Colin, I’m not sure about mine, but it’s the one that stands by itself with a metal clip. Good thing is, it’s water resistant (not entirely waterproof), but the new one seems like you have to get some spray on before taking it out for a walk on rainy days.

I just got back from a North Face shop in Poland, you got few things wrong or maybe they updated the pack over time: the latch mechanism is completely made out of metal, i have no idea how you got the impression it’s made out of plastic. Second thing, the backpack has an aluminium frame, that’s accessible even from the laptop compartment, hidden behind a zipper.

I’ve come back to this review with some bad news. I have a 22L access pack with the metal clasp and my mechanism is now not working. No components have physically broken but the clasp now releases the metal tab on its own.

EDIT/UPDATE: Turns out it was a broken tension spring. I sent photos and videos of the issue and North Face are shipping a replacement clasp/closing mechanism which can be swapped in via 2 nuts/bolt fasteners.

hi, I am trying to determine if the Access 02 has the same little “stash” compartment above the laptop (you can see it at 03:52 of ), but for whatever reason, of the few (yes, so few!) reviews that I’ve looked at, nobody even mentions this. Why? Do you know if the Access 02 still has this same pocket? I think for the same reasons as mentioned in the other video that this is a great pocket to have. That way, I unzip that one compartment, and I get access to both my laptop, and my charger.
