Just thought I’d say this

Nike doesn’t own any factories. They make orders from independent contractors. They will come in and take a look at the machines and skills the factory offers. They may give the same shoe to 2 factories They give them a sample pair and ask for pairs to be made. They then decide by QC standards which shoe from which factory is up to par and that factory gets the contract to make 50k pairs of the release.

All these companies look for and care about is consistency in the pair. One factory may dye the leather more consistent than the other because they use a different dyeing technique and machine.

However for different materials that same dyeing technique may not be as consistent as the other factories may be.

This is how molds, colors, and leaks happen. They all in on it on the low and leak info for extra money.

You may ask why use two different factories. Well the reasons I stated above. One factory may produce a release more consistently than a previously used factory that handled a different release. Also OTHER brands use the same factories.

So if Nike needs 50k of a AJ2 by Christmas but the factory also has contracts for other companies to fulfill and can’t finish by a deadline then Nike may have to settle with a different factory who can fulfill it.

Notice how lately they said they’re having supplier issues and they’re stopping releases? They don’t control shit lol they buying this shit from the same folks who make our pairs 🥲🤣🤣
