I would detach the sleeves from the vest. It would be made of two separate sections. The sleeves would fit over with the collar attached, and then the vest would go over that. This would provide even more flexibility while retaining the ability to hold more protective padding.

Oooh I’ll have to share this with some club mates. This seems to combine the features of the Superior Fencing jackets with the Spes doublets. Very nice.
