I think that the vest and pants should be of similar colour to look good . Just my opinion

I just started watching The Mentalist and this look is very Patrick Jane (the main character) He wears a lot of 3-piece suits,but there’s a lot of times he’s wearing the outfit without the jacket, just the waistcoat shirt and trousers.

Every time I see a waistcoat I just picture Simon Barker as Patrick Jane on The Mentalist because yes he has a suit jacket but he’s wearing just a waistcoat 90% of the time. And he looks stunning.
