If you’re going to unclip if you go overboard, why clip in at all? Looks unnecessary and complicated when a good pair of shoes and topside maintenance will keep you on the boat.

get a grillon.. then you can self rescue if you fall and have an ability to pull back up the rope, or use as a positioner in bad seas. Could still keep the quick release in play

Nice safety! Offshore racing it’s a mandatory at night but during the day I don’t see a reason. Just get some good shoes, I like zhik
