Me, forgetting that Fahrenheit exists: What do you mean, you’ll freeze in 24°? More like melt
Me:
Me: Ohhhh
It’s even better when it’s freezing cold and kids tell you something along the lines of: “I couldn’t wear my jacket. My stuff is in my dad’s bedroom and he told me that I’m not allowed in there because he’s got his new girlfriend over.” And then they bike all the way to school wearing a t-shirt.
666th like 😈
i say let them learn their lesson.
Yep really happens
I can already hear the purse jerking!! Lol
You are so nice to her but also SAME. I work at an outdoor school in a cold region so this is the whole deal. If a child (d*lilah) didn’t bring their coat, I end up constantly protecting her from the cold. She is 3 and doesn’t understand why she can’t touch the snow when she has AWFUL winter gear. Just gotta keep those fingers safe
Any crisis is solved if you offer to let them watch some YouTube videos lol. Went from 😫 to 😙
Yep, I’ve had this interaction with one of my students many times in the past month.
Student: “Why I can’t go outside? I want to swing on the swings.”
Me: “I know you like the swings, but it’s 29 degrees and you didn’t bring a coat.”
Student: “Why I’m in trouble?”
Me: “You’re definitely _not_ in trouble, but you will be very cold if you go out without a coat.”
Student: “I want to go outside . . .”
We have this exchange about 11 times per day. Or we did, until he started bringing a coat. Just in time for the weather to turn very wet.
What do we predict Mrs. Smith’s reaction to be? 🤔
I’m thinking it will start with a “HOW DARE YOU isolate my child from her friends!”
And it will end with “How dare YOU hold ME accountable for my poor parenting!” But of course not in these exact words…
