What exactly does the test measure? And how does that work in practice? Where are any sources of error that influence the result? What must be observed in order to obtain unambiguous results?

The importance of the answers to these questions can hardly be overestimated, as they support or destroy the credibility and validity of the “case numbers”, which in turn are the main argument for all Corona measures, ordinances and controversial laws.

First of all: The PCR test for Sars-CoV-2 is almost useless if it is not used strictly in accordance with the rules.
And the very complex and correct application of the test is by no means guaranteed, and certainly not everywhere. The scientific value of the “case numbers” for an evidence-based policy is therefore low. But only an evidence-based policy is credible and communicable. In other words, a policy that is not based on evidence is arbitrary.

Corona-Transition.org will show in several chapters how this preliminary conclusion comes about – based on sources such as publicly available studies and other published works by virologists, epidemiologists and other experts. The conclusion is also supported by statements from test users at universities, hospitals or similar test facilities.

An interim remark to avoid misunderstandings: The past eight months have shown that there is something, mostly simply called “coronavirus”, that can make people sick to different degrees – and in special cases also let them die.

What does the PCR test measure?
Does he detect the presence of Sars-CoVirus-2? No. The test only measures sequences, i.e. nucleic acids that should be contained in the virus.
These sequences were identified by Chinese scientists at the beginning of the corona crisis and extrapolated in a computer model to give the “overall structure” of the virus. The virus in question has so far never been extracted from the blood of a sick person, obtained in its pure form and examined.

By the way: The very first PCR test in connection with the corona crisis was even established and proudly presented to the world before China had delivered sequences: it is Christian Drosten’s PCR test. He wrote about the test development in a scientific publication (see under ’Results’):

“Prior to announcing public virus sequences from 2019-nCoV cases, we relied on reports from social media announcing evidence of a SARS-like virus. That is why we assumed that a SARS-related CoV was involved in the outbreak. ”

Back to the test:
Can the test say anything about the virus, for example whether it is multiplying in the host, in us? No, or will it make people sick? No, or maybe the test says something about whether a tested person carries a small or large intact viral load. No, or has it already penetrated a cell? No, does the test say anything about the risk of infection? No.

It is therefore not surprising that the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) together with the licensing authority SwissMedic (SM) published the following document on May 20, 2020:
