I had a guy get real pissed off at me because I was “stealing valor” by wearing an OD green jacket…that I bought at JC penny-No patches or insignia of any sort on it. 😂

Stolen valor is trying to use false military service claims to gain something (free meals, discounts, privileges, etc.) that you would otherwise not receive.

someone thanked me for my service bc i was wearing my Dads milsurp jacket, i wasnt accused of anything thankfully but i was quick to correct that i matter of fact was not in the US when M81 Woodland was in use (im 21). Im getting a flecktarn jacket soon, so hopefully no one thanks be for joining the Bundeswher

Nope. In fact i can’t think of an air force brat that didn’t wear their dads jacket. Those old parkas with the furlined snorkels were a favorite one at my USAFbrat populated middle and high school in alaska.
