Green washing
Algae foam that they call is probably just algae particulates added into a latex-foam polymer compound. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a reinvented algae-version of croc’s eva-foam material. Algae component is likely so small that it doesn’t matter to the shoe’s structural integrity and the reduction in environmental impact.
