Is there any data on the abrasion resistance of that jacket. I mean sure, it has padding…..but what about abrasion resistance? That is the measure that will minimize that skin trail which is the primary point you’re making.

I had a somewhat big accident last summer and my helmet and jacket, combined with gloves and boots are the only reasons I still have skin and a face. Now I absolutely believe you do you, but having worked in emerg and having to scrub people who rode “naked”, it is not fun. And yes I agree with you, my modular helmet and mesh jacket are cooler in the sun. My jacket creates a kind of vortex between my jacket and skin which evaporates the sweat and cools me down. if your helmet has good ventilation, it is cooler than an open face helmet. I wore everything under the sun (pun intended) so I have good comparisons. The only drawback is that even a mesh jacket in traffic, is hot.
